This Department shall undertake the following tasks and functions:
- Supervision and technical monitoring of various exploration and development drilling operations in the exploration blocks.
- Field follow up of approved well drilling operations program.
- Consideration of technical programs proposed for drilling exploration and development wells (drilling fluid programs, casement, tests) and approval of drilling technical documents submitted by companies.
- Giving technical advice to committees on the offers pertaining to drilling works.
- Setting up pricing studies for the various materials and equipment used in drilling operations.
- Monitoring economic costs for the various drilling operations.
- Receiving and analysis of all reports on the various drilling operations carried out by operating companies.
- Giving advice on the quantity and quantity of materials and equipment imported and used by the operating companies in drilling and supporting operations.
- Evaluation of performance level of the various drilling operations and setting up comparisons between expected and actual drawings.
- Coordination of its activities with the other General Department in the Sector and Board.
- Proposing its training needs in the field of its activity.
- Presentation of regular reports on its activities and achievement.
- Any other tasks entailed by the nature of its functions.
